Megumi Nakamura (they/she) is a New York based director, actor, and writer hailing from San Francisco, California. Most recently, they directed the Off-Broadway premiere of Rishi Varma's SULFUR BOTTOM and the premiere of their own musical THE TWELFTH NIGHT SHOW at Weston Theater Company. As an actor, they have were most recently seen in Amy Herzog's MARY JANE on Broadway starring Rachel McAdams and directed by Anne Kauffman. They have spent their training and career in the pursuit of fostering safe spaces for open dialogue and understanding. Consequently, their work often examines intersectionality of race and gender and the power of individuality. They are a mixed-race artist and continue to research the complex histories and sometimes, isolating experiences of the growing population of multi-racial Americans.
