Megumi Nakamura (they/she) is a New York based director, actor, and writer hailing from San Francisco, California. Most recently, they appeared in Amy Herzog's MARY JANE on Broadway starring Rachel McAdams and directed by Anne Kauffman. They also made their New York full-length directing debut in July 2024 with Isaiah Stavchansky's ANNE FRANK IN MT. VERNON, OHIO at JACK in Brooklyn. Additionally, Megumi has directed 8 produced readings and workshops in New York City since Spring of 2023. They have spent their training and career in the pursuit of fostering safe spaces for open dialogue and understanding. Consequently, their work often examines intersectionality of race and gender and the power of individuality. They are a mixed-race artist and continue to research the complex histories and sometimes, isolating experiences of the growing population of multi-racial Americans.
