ABOUT ME

Megumi Nakamura is a New York based director, actor, and writer hailing from San Francisco, California. Megumi accepts the pronouns they/she and identifies as non-binary. They have spent their training and career in the pursuit of fostering safe spaces for open dialogue and understanding; where collaboration thrives. Consequently, their work often examines intersectionality of race and gender and the power of individuality. Megumi received a B.F.A. in Musical Theater from the University of Michigan and continuously seeks opportunities to honor the artists that came before them while finding ways to dismantle the systems that threaten to hold back the next generation of artists. Megumi is a mixed-race artist and continues to research the complex histories and sometimes, isolating experiences of the growing population of multi-racial Americans. 

Megumi is currently in the original Broadway cast of Amy Herzog's MARY JANE at Manhattan Theatre Club.
